Upper Roaring Fork - AM Half Day

Due to low water levels, we are no longer recommending this section, but luckily we are still able to raft some of the best whitewater in Colorado! We would love for you to join us on the Shoshone section of the Colorado River for a great Class III experience. If you have your heart set on the Upper Roaring Fork and are OK rafting low water conditions please give us a call and we are happy to get you out there!! The Upper Roaring Fork was named Thunder River by the Ute Indians to describe the rumbling sound that comes to life in early spring. This section features beautiful scenery, wildlife, and exceptional whitewater on class III rapids. This section’s close proximity to Aspen and Snowmass makes it one of our most popular trips. Good for beginners as well as experienced rafters. Total trip time is approximately 4 hours. Minimum age 6-12yrs, varies with water levels.

Recommended Gear

Footwear: Wear shoes that you do not mind getting wet (preferably tennis shoes or sandals with straps). Definitely not flip flops, booties are available upon request. Swimwear: We recommend wearing a bathing suit beneath your shorts, splash pants or wetsuit. Sunscreen/Lip Balm: Sunscreen and lip balm with sunscreen are recommended to prevent sun damage. Sunglasses: Will protect your eyes but be sure not to wear your most expensive pair and bring along Croakies to keep them attached. Croakies are also a must for people that wear prescription eyeglasses. Additional Clothing and Layers: On warm sunny days, we recommend shorts, t-shirt, and a light waterproof shell. On cool overcast days, fleece, a wool sweater or polypropylene is best to keep you drier. It is best not to wear cotton or denim, as these get wet and stay cold. Hooded waterproof shells and pants are helpful if you have them. We provide paddle jackets and pants at no extra charge. Wet suits are also available upon request. Water: Beverages are supplied on all of our trips, however we also recommend that you bring additional water. Extras: Waterproof Camera, Cash for photos, gratuity or additional merchandise.
