SPECIALTY HIKES Whether you're looking for a little more challenge out of a hike or your training for a special trek then we have just the thing you're looking for! CASTLE PEAK HIKE - Summit one of Colorado's 54 peaks over 14,000 ft in elevation. The ultimate way to "top off" your Colorado Adventures! Your early day begins with a jeep ride up Montezuma Basin at 12,500ft above Castle Creek Valley. Your climb to 14,265ft Castle Peak begins here along a rocky steep trail. Recommended only for the advanced hiker with a minimum age of 16 years. Starting elevation 12,500ft and elevation gain 1,765ft. Roundtrip distance. 2 miles.   CRESTED BUTTE HIKE - Hike deep into the Maroon Bells Snowmass Wilderness area and experience the classic Aspen to Crested Butte hike. This is a local's favorite and one of the best high alpine wildflower hikes in our area. Your day beings with an early morning drive to spectacular West Maroon Pass at 12,500ft. Descending into the valley from the pass will reward your efforts with meadows of wildflowers. Your trail ends at Schofield Pass Road outside of Crested Butte where your ride will await you. Transportation via van to Aspen that afternoon is included. Other options include an overnight stay in Crested Butte and returning the next day via hiking or a van shuttle, details and prices for overnight trips upon request. This hike is available from July through September. Due to the length of the hike the minimum age is 16 years and it is recommended that you are an Intermediate to Advanced hiker. |
