Changing of the Seasons

Fall Is Here

photo 2

After a great summer season on the rivers and trails, fall has arrived!  Mother Nature took the change of the seasons very seriously, coating the mountain tops with a fresh dusting of snow during the first night of fall.  Though the mountains are starting to look wintery, we still have a couple months of glorious fall weather and world class leaf peeping.

Jeep Tours

Now is the perfect time to hop in one of our famous yellow jeeps and head up into the high country!  If you only have time for a half day tour, don’t fret, both the Lenado and Jeep 5.22.13Independence Pass tours will give you the views that the Roaring Fork Valley is famous for.  Lenado is a great off-road tour with phenomenal views of the West Elk Range, looking back across the valley towards Snowmass and Aspen.  Independence Pass is primarily paved, passing by some of Ansel Adams favorite aspen groves, the headwaters of the Roaring Fork River and the ghost town of Independence.   If you have a whole day to spend with us, we highly recommend the Taylor Pass 3/4 day tour.  The added time allows you to get further into the high country, with breathtaking vistas and aspen groves coming into their full fall colors.

Sunset Dinners

Fall is also Sunset Dinner season!  Why spend every night of your stay stuffed inside a restaurant when you can eat a four course meal alfresco at the Burlingame Cabin?  The evening starts with a short jeep tour up Snowmass with panoramic views of the Roaring Fork Valley and Mt. Daly.  After the tour, settle in to our oasis on the mountain, with a roaring fire, horseshoes and live music.  Our cook will serve up a delicious meal, capped off by roasting marshmallows over an open fire.  Finish the night off by singing along with a few of your favorite cowboy tunes and watching the sunset.

Just because the first snow of the year has fallen does not mean it’s time to stay inside!  Get outside and experience one of our favorite seasons!
