SUNSET DINNER EXCURSION
An evening of Colorado mountain fun, beginning with a four-wheel drive tour into the high country and finishing with a full course, hearty dinner in one of the Aspen area's most scenic settings. Your evening begins at 6:00 PM from the Snowmass Village Mall, blazing a trail up Coney Glade on the Snowmass Ski Area. We traverse the mountain to the secluded and historic Burlingame log cabin, nestled in the front yard of the majestic Mt. Daly and miles from nowhere. Geology, history and wildlife will be discussed and observed along the way. Here the food and fun begins with group and individual activities; you can toss horseshoes, swing in the tree swing, play Frisbee, or take an unforgettable half-mile hike to the spectacular Mt. Daly overlook. A full course country style dinner will be served. To accommodate our groups, we can change the menu upon request.
As the sun begins to set behind Mt. Daly and the glow of the campfire lights up the surrounding woods, you will be entertained by the sounds of live music. The stars above and the glittering lights of the town below highlight the return trip. We will return at approximately 9:30 PM.
This trip is a great opportunity to relax at the end of the day. The cabin setting is small and intimate, taking you back to the frontier days of early Colorado. Don't leave the Roaring Fork Valley without REALLY experiencing the great outdoors. You will love it - we do!
What Should I Wear? Always dress warmly for the ride to and from the cabin - sweater, warm jacket and pants. We will be spending our evening in the mountains at approximately 10,000 feet, and the evenings can be cool. Hiking shoes or sturdy walking shoes are recommended and a hat if you get cold easily.
What Should I Bring? A camera and ample supply of film, a relaxed attitude and any libations you may wish to drink with your dinner.
