Backcountry Jeep Tour: This Jeep tour travels up Aspen Mountain, traversing through verdant meadows and Blue Spruce forests. Once on top, we skirt along the crest of Gold Hill Ridge, affording fantastic views of the Continental Divide on one side and Montezuma Basin on the other. Finally, we head down the backside of Aspen Mountain, past historic silver mines and cabins dating back to Aspen’s earliest days. Summer wildflowers are abundant this time of year. This trip departs at 2:00 PM and returns around 5:15 PM. Cost: $190.00 per adult, $180.00 per child 12 and under.
Maroon Bells & Lake – Maroon Creek Valley: Our tour begins with a drive to the “most photographed peaks in North America” – the Maroon Bells and Maroon Lake. At Maroon Lake there will be time for photographs and to talk about the local wildlife. After everyone has limbered up, you will begin your 12-mile downhill descent on a paved road through the Maroon Valley. Along the way, you are welcome to stop and enjoy the spectacular views, and to photograph one of the most picturesque wilderness areas in Colorado. Your trip finishes in Aspen. We will stop for a refreshing snack along the way. The Maroon Bells road is closed to most vehicular traffic for the majority of the summer and affords a perfect opportunity to enjoy your downhill bike ride. Backcountry Half Day Hike: Explore the White River National Forest with one of our experienced, local guides, as we get you out into the heart of the Elk Mountains. These hikes focus on a close look at the natural environment while you enjoy scenic, secluded trails. Let us choose the “most picturesque” trail depending on time of the year and group size. Trails vary, from Creekside hikes through Colorado Spruce, to winding trails through Aspen groves and wildflower filled alpine meadows, to steep trails that access hike mountain lakes. Elevation gain: 1,000-1,500 feet. The trip departs at 2:00 PM and returns by 5:15 PM. Cost: $190.00 per adult, $180.00 per child 12 and under.
